Society for Liturgical Study Conference 2026: Liturgy and Creation
Registration is now open for the Society for Liturgical Study's 2026 Conference, which will take place at Hinsley Hall, Leeds, from 25–27 August 2026.
Focusing on the theme "Liturgy and Creation", this year's conference will explore how liturgy engages with creation in celebration, lament, theological reflection, and practical action. The conference brings together established scholars, clergy, and early-career researchers for three days of discussion, worship, and fellowship.
The programme includes keynote addresses from Professor Margaret Daly-Denton and Revd Canon Christopher Irvine, alongside a wide range of papers examining theological, pastoral, ecological, musical, historical, and liturgical perspectives on creation. Topics range from liturgical responses to climate change and eco-anxiety to sacramental theology, Eucharistic prayer, lament, and ecumenical approaches to creation care.
The full residential conference fee is £280, including two nights' en-suite accommodation, all meals, a drinks reception, and the conference dinner. Places are limited, and registration closes on 12 July 2026.
We look forward to welcoming members and guests to Leeds for what promises to be a stimulating and timely exploration of liturgy and creation.
